Atlanta Weather: |
Like everywhere else in the spring, the weather can be a little
unstable. Highs are usually in the low 70s with lows in the low
50s and April can be rainy. As much of a concern as the weather
is the pollen count. If you've never had allergies before, Atlanta
in the spring may be your first encounter. If you do have allergies,
bring a supply of decongestant or antihistamine - look for the
non-drowsy kind! Before you pack,

Neighborhoods and Attractions
- Midtown-
All wedding activities are happening here. Midtown Atlanta is
a resurgent neighborhood that is one of Atlanta's few true pedestrian
neighborhoods. Amidst the solid business district has emerged
a thriving nightclub scene and residential community. It is
also the cultural center of Atlanta with the Woodruff Art's
Center and High Museum of Art.
- Buckhead- Most well
know neighborhood in Atlanta. It's known for it's large bar
and restaurant scene, great shopping, and fancy houses. North
of Midtown. Best reached via cab.
- Virginia/Highlands-
Great neighborhood with a capital N. Full of great bars and
restaurants as well as eclectic and fun shops and boutiques.
Vickie and I lived Virginia Highlands for years. It's about
3 miles east of midtown. Also best reached by cab.
- Downtown-
Mostly a business district. It does include the Georgia Dome
and Philips Arena. As well as some of Atlanta's top attractions
like the CNN Center, Underground Atlanta, and The World of Coca-Cola.
- Sweet Auburn- On
the east side of downtown this neighborhood was historically
the home of Atlanta's black middle and upper class especially
during the early 20th Century. The main attaraction here is
the The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social
Change, MLK's Birth Place, and the Ebenzer Baptist Church

of the Atlanta Braves who will be home playing the New York
Mets April 5-7. No, you cannot go on the 6th.

#1 Rule of Atlanta geography- There are
bunch of variations on the Peachtree theme. For the purpose of the

run north-south and are parallel to each other and all planned activities
