Genealogical Journey
I’ve always loved history and had pride in my family. Before my grandmother, Genevieve passed in 1989, she shared with all her grandkids the family tree research she had been conducting for years. That stack of xeroxed papers sparked a lifelong interest.
In the 1990s and early 2000s, I took that stack into the digital age and put it online while old government documents like birth and marriage records, census reports, and ship manifests were also being digitized. In the 2010s and 2020s, even more old digitized documents became available, cheap DNS tests drove interest so even more people put their family trees online, and the ability to connect with their family trees and research increased greatly.
This has allowed me to break through old dead ends into history, pre-history, and even myth.
Pro Tip: When you get to Thor, you’ve gone beyond.
I will be sharing some of the more interesting things I’ve found on the new Kealy.com.
